Grant Orientation and Project Sharing for Educators, Artists

What: art$TART Grant orientation session and current project sharing

Who: for educators and artists interested in teaching through the arts in K-12 public and private schools in CNY

Anyone interesting in finding out about art$TART grants for the 2009 – 2010 school year is invited to an art$TART Grant orientation on Wednesday, June 10, 3:30 – 4:30 at Jowonio School, 3049 E. Genesee St., Syracuse. The orientation will be led by Sue Stonecash, Grant Programs Director at Partners for Arts Education (PAE), which administers the grants.

After the orientation, from 4:30 – 6:00, current art$TART grantees will share the work they did this past year. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with other local arts in education practitioners, see what art$TART partnerships look like in the classroom, and benefit from the experience of other partnerships. A light supper will be served to those attending the project sharing. All are welcome.

Art$TART offers up to $2500 in matching funds for partnerships between teaching artists or cultural organizations and teachers at all public and private pre-K thru 12 schools in nine CNY counties. PAE granted $36,000 to seventeen schools for the 2008-09 school year.
