Where: office of Partners for Arts Education, Delavan Center, 501 W. Fayette St.
When: Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23, 3:00 – 4:30 pm
Syracuse City School District (SCSD) teachers will have an opportunity to pick up some needed classroom supplies while they participate in a recycling project.
Partners for Arts Education (PAE) will be hosting a paper giveaway for SCSD teachers on Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm at the Delavan Center.
Teachers signed up an appointment for the giveaway on line, and all the spots were taken quickly. It's actually the second supplies redistribution this fall – over 100 teachers took advantage of the first one.
The many varieties of paper and envelopes were donated by two local printing companies. Pat Corcoran at Peerless Press and Harold Kyle, Debbie Urbanski, and Carrie Valenzuela at Boxcar Press put together and helped organize the materials.
"We're very happy to be able to offer this opportunity to our local teachers," said Maureen Foster, Administrative Assistant at PAE. "Budgets are tight everywhere, and even something as simple as paper can be a concern. The response has been enormous – over 60 teachers signed up."
PAE already has a relationship with Syracuse schools through the Arts in Mind initiative, which is bringing equitable access to creative experiences to Syracuse students.
