Abstract: Indie Programs (Indie), a five-year-old media-based program for “at risk” and under-performing students will partner with Saugerties Art Lab (SAL), a grass-roots visual arts organization that serves a diverse population of non-traditional students, to exchange programming and broaden the student population served. Planning for a pilot program next year to include Indie student internships, professional development, arts instructor exchanges, and collaborative projects with the SAL will result in programming that increases the use of the arts to reach non-traditional, disengaged, or otherwise under-performing students.

Abstract: The Rotunda Gallery will host an intensive day-long retreat entitled "Building a Successful Rotunda Gallery Residency." The TAP grant will support artist-educator fees, enabling the Gallery’s entire staff of Teaching Artists to attend. The retreat will provide our Teaching Artists the tools to develop a meaningful classroom partnership between Rotunda and our school partners.

Abstract: Attending PSI Poetry Cross Training Camp will allow me to refresh my skills and tap into the current trends, techniques and styles being used by other slam, spoken word and performance poets around the state, as well as network with other teaching artists, poets and teachers to form program connections and/or future partnerships. I also plan to interview the organizers and study their format to help with our planning for future citywide teen championships in Rochester.
