Ted Kooser Visit Rescheduled for October 5th

(Syracuse, April 25, 2006) The reception, luncheon, and reading with U. S. Poet Laureate Ted Kooser scheduled to take place on May 9, 2006 has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 5th. School programs connected with Mr. Kooser’s visit are still in place.

Due to a serious family illness, Mr. Kooser has cancelled all his engagements for the next several weeks, including his visit to Syracuse.

Mr. Kooser will be coming to Syracuse as part of “Community Life in Poetry,” a day of celebration including a symposium, a public reading, and other programs co-sponsored by the YMCA’s Downtown Writer’s Center and Partners for Arts Education (PAE). Students from area schools are participating through poetry residencies, and Syracuse City Schools will be sending laureate teams to meet Mr. Kooser.
