Assemblyman Magnarelli Delivers Support for Arts in Schools

Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli will announce a grant of $20,000 for Partners for Arts Education on Monday, June 25 at a reception for 2006 – 07 school and cultural arts-in-education partners.

The funds will be used to support the Community, Culture, and Education initiative, which is developing a plan to bring comprehensive, long-term arts integration to all Syracuse City schools. The initiative has also received support from the Community Foundation, the Gifford Foundation, Assemblywoman Joan Christensen, and the Syracuse City School District.

“This grant will support an important new arts initiative in the Syracuse City Schools,” said Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli.  “The arts enrich students’ education by developing their creativity, imagination and perceptual skills.  Partners for Arts Education provides vital programs in arts education, and I am happy to support this organization and this initiative.”

The 6:00 pm reception at Syracuse Stage celebrates this year’s arts education partnerships in CNY, and includes recognition of arts-in-education heroes for 2006-07. The reception is open to the public. Please contact Partners for Arts Education at 234.9911 if you would like to attend.
