Local Cultural Leaders to Meet with Governor's Representative

Leaders of local arts and culture organizations will hold a public forum on June 7 with Kristen Heath, Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s regional representative, to discuss the state’s support of the arts.

Leaders of the organizations that belong to the Arts and Culture Leadership Alliance of Central New York will meet with to hear about the governor’s vision for the arts in New York and brief her about the state of the arts in Central New York.

The forum will discuss increased levels of funding from the New York State Council on the Arts, the needs and impact of upstate arts and culture organizations.

ACLA invites friends of the arts in Central New York to attend. The forum starts at 4 p.m., Jazz Central, 441 E. Washington St., Syracuse.

ACLA is a consortium for executive leaders of 32 nonprofit arts and culture agencies. They meet each month to address current regional issues that involve the arts in economic development, community building, education, and arts advocacy.
