Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I register?
Registration is entirely online, and takes just a few minutes. Your registration fee is payable by check, credit card (via PayPal), or purchase order.

Please take a look at the schedule and workshop descriptions prior to starting your registration so you can choose the workshops you want. You will be able to print out your entire personalized schedule.

2. How much does it cost?
See the Attending the Conference page for information on fees.

3. What about my hotel room?
Attendees book their own hotel rooms. We recommend you stay at the Crowne Plaza, where the conference is held. We have reserved a room block for the conference at the rate of $136/night, plus taxes. Be sure to bring a tax exempt form with you if you have one.

To reserve a room, call 518 462 6611 or toll-free at 800 227 6963, and make sure to mention the CommonGround Conference. The deadline for room reservations at this special rate is March 3, 2009.

4. Who designs the workshops?
YOU do! We rely on all of the brilliant experts in New York State to share their expertise. Read workshop descriptions.

5. How can I find out more about the conference?
The schedule, workshop descriptions and keynote details are now posted - check back periodically for updates.

6. Can I get space to set up a display about my program?
Display tables, which include wireless internet connection, can be reserved as part of the registration process. The cost is $100 for tables. Electricity is available on request for no additional charge. For more information, please contact Kristin at our office.

7. Are scholarships available?
Technical Assistance Program Grants (CG-TAP) are available from PAE again this year to cover costs (lodging, travel, etc.) associated with attending the conference. The scholarships do not cover the registration fee. The deadline for applications was February 15, 2009.

8. I can't attend the conference this year, but I'd like to stay in the mix.
We hope, of course, that all our friends and colleagues will attend CommonGround. But whether or not you’ll actually be there, you can keep in touch by donating to the CommonGround Scholarship Fund.
