Program 2005-06
2005-06 was the first
full year of programming and partnership
for the S.T.A.R.S. (Strategic Teaching
Assures Reading Success) program between
Grant Middle School and Partners for
Arts Education.
The program offered eight different
artistic disciplines with a connection
to the overall needs of Grant’s
reading and literacy focus and the
21st Century Learning Community guidelines.

The art forms included photography, African drumming, West African
dance, Cuban Salsa dance, multicultural
culinary arts, journalism and
creative writing, handmade books,

The overall impact of the program
has been positive, and we're proud
of the work our teaching artists and
the students have done. Partners for
Arts Education appreciates the ability
to partner with Grant Middle School
and looks forward to the 2006 - 07
program.
