Using 3D animation and rich media
as learning tools across the curriculum
(architecture, arts, math, science,
history, and language arts)
Presenters will
share examples of 3D work (created
by themselves and other well-known
animators), show student-led projects
using a variety of multimedia forms,
and lead a discussion on how to
use technology in new ways to enhance
learning. The presentation will emphasize
how these methods help students construct
meaning by becoming active participants
rather than passive observers of
the media they surround themselves
with. Participants will have time
to ask questions, reflect on project
examples, and explore ways they can
implement these methods in their
classrooms or programs now.
Friday 9:15-10:45
Conference Strand:
Curriculum/Assessment
Educators: will
see: the benefits of using 3D design
and animation to help illustrate
concepts and round out a curriculum;
how to use the digital arts and media
to engage and excite students; how
to break apart and explore 3D animation
and other technology-based projects;
and how the process can help students
to construct meaning on a higher
level and teach them to be active
creators of media rather than passive
observers of it.
Artists:
will see ways that they can enhance
their teaching-arts work through
the use of multimedia and animation.
Organizational Administrators:
can see how multimedia
arts can be an effective community
or school-based program and how to
develop one.
Educational Administrators:
will see how their schools can more
effectively use the hardware they
have to develop more meaningful and
engaging content, and to use technology
to enhance student learning.
Community/Parents: will
enjoy the visually appealing presentation
and hear new ways to get kids interested
in learning using the arts and technology.
