This participatory workshop will
explore how to hook students on the
first day (and beyond) of an arts-in-education
residency.
You never get a second chance to
make a first impression! Finding
the right "hook" is essential
to deeply connecting students to
an arts-in-ed residency. This
hands-on workshop will explore how
to hook students through a variety
of dynamic techniques that were developed
through Epic Theatre Center's Citizen
Artist program.

Melissa
Friedman is the Founding
Education Director of Epic Theatre
Center, an Obie-award winning Off-Broadway
theatre and producer of the critically-acclaimed
No Child... Melissa has been
a TA in NYC’s Public Schools
for the past 10 years and has led
workshops at Face to Face and ESP
Summer Seminar. As an actor,
she has performed both regionally
and Off-Broadway, including starring
opposite David Strathairn in Epic's
production of Hannah and Martin.
