Teacher renewal,
the necessity and possibility
This is an exploration
and inquiry into the vital place
of teacher renewal and self-development
and its place in education reform.
The workshop is designed to be an
introduction into the possibility
of what that might look like, recognizing
how the arts play an important role
in the renewal process as we get
in touch with the “arts part” of
ourselves. Based on the work
of the Academy for the Love of Learning
founded by Leonard Bernstein and
Aaron Stern, this workshop
will be experiential and include
discussion and reflection.
Friday 11:00-12:30
Conference Strand:
Core Knowledge
Educators: will
understand more about the value and
necessity of teacher renewal and
begin the dialogue about what
that might look like in their own
situation. This is designed to be
an exploration of why this is necessary
and open up and share the possibilities.
Educational Administrators:
will understand how they can support
the teacher renewal process, and
the value for the educational institution
of doing so.
