For those of you who signed the get-well card to Carol Ponder:

Dear Laura,

I just received an absolutely stunning piece of mail - the get well card from Common Ground.  I, frankly, burst into tears.  The arts education community in New York State is an extraordinary group of great human beings.  I don't have everyone's email, so I'm sending a heartfelt "thank you" to you and into the ether.  And it could not have come at a better time - I was lower than a skunk today about the whole situation.

The up side is that Robert is not only driving me all over Tennessee and North Carolina and carrying anything heavier than my walker, he's also with me in the classroom - more and more, as we're in classes together, I realize what a great teaching partner he is.  The kids love him, and his intuition about how to support the process in each different classroom is unfailing. 

Again, my undying thanks for your understanding when I had to cancel, and to the New York State community for such kindness.  Wow.
