Poet
Laureate Ted Kooser in Syracuse
"Community Life in Poetry"
a year of poetry, a
day of celebration, a constant community
voice

WCNY-TV
presents "Ted Kooser's Poetic
World"
Monday, April 10, 11 pm
How
does one achieve a little bit of order
within the chaos of life? Discover
the world of the United States 13th
Poet Laureate and his ambitious goal
of making poetry an everyday experience
for us all.
Ted
Kooser made his living working in
the life insurance business. For over
forty years he rose at 4:30 A.M. every
day, and wrote. His poetry reveals
the extraordinary in the ordinary.
In "Ted Kooser's Poetic World"
we unveil his writing history and
his role as the U.S. Poet Laureate.
And we hear poetry - from Kooser,
singer/songwriter John Prine and five
other diverse, inspiring, everyday
poets. "Ted Kooser's Poetic World"
is quiet refuge from the chaos that
surrounds us--a place to examine who
we are, why we are here, where we
are going.
You
can see the program on WCNY Channel
24, or Channel 11 on Time-Warner Cable.
