will develop their own
creative expression of
“Community Life
in Poetry” for the
Laureate
Teams to bring to
the luncheon. Syracuse
City Schools will each
send a “Laureate
Team” of two students
and one teacher to represent
their school community
at the luncheon on May
9th.

School Poetry Partnerships:
Central New York schools
will participate in artist
residencies with local
professional poets. Special
funding for a limited
number of partnerships
will be available. For
information and an application
contact PAE.

members of the project's
Laureate Council
and community
poets who will be in residence
in local schools.

section of our website
will publish the weekly
national column “American
Life in Poetry,”
edited by Mr. Kooser,
along with student writing
and artwork as a countdown
to May 9th. After May,
the website will remain
and PAE will use it to
showcase student work
from their funded partnerships.

can join Mr. Kooser at
a reception before the
reading. Proceeds will
benefit both agencies'
programs. Tickets range
from $125 to $5000 and
include admission to the
