Empire State Partnerships Summer Seminar
July 19 - 22, 2004
C.W. Post Campus, Brookville, NY
The Empire State Partnerships program will hold its 8th Annual Summer Seminar at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, NY. During the 4 days of the Seminar, and the First-Timers' Orientation on July 18, arts-in-education practitioners will have opportunities to:

  • engage in peer-to-peer discussions
  • learn from nationally recognized experts in the field
  • explore key issues related to practice and philosophy of arts-in-education
  • plan with their school-based team
  • consult with seasoned professionals about arts-in-ed programming
  • network with colleagues from around the state

As a university with a School of Education (that offers a degree in Arts Education) which is also home several arts institutions, including the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts and the Hillwood Art Gallery, the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University is remarkably well-suited to the mission and practice of E.S.P. Possessing air-conditioned dormitories, several types of meeting rooms, and an arboretum on its grounds, the campus also promises to be a comfortable setting for this important annual retreat.

Please note: Partnerships that are funded through NYSCA's School-wide Improvement Grants are required to send at least 3 partnership representatives, with at least one being a school-based practitioner.  Tuition will again be $700 per person (commuter and residential tuition are the same).  Please share this information with your team members, so your partnership can be fully represented.

New details, including the theme and opportunities for fellowships, will be announced via the ESP website (www.espartsed.org) as they become available.
