Poetry Partnerships Showcase

On Thursday, June 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, students and teaching artists from seven CNY schools (Huntington and Shea MS in Syracuse, Fitzhugh Park ES and Kingsford Park ES in Oswego, East Ave. MS in Auburn, Jamesville-Dewitt MS and Indian River HS) will showcase the work they did  with a poet-in-residence as part of the “Community Life in Poetry” project.  Students and poets will be on hand to share what they’ve learned and read their work.

The event takes place at the Syracuse Federal Credit Union Center for the Performing Arts, 728 East Genesee St.  This is a relatively new venue at the former Christian Science Church near Syracuse Stage.  It’s quite a beautiful space, and worth checking out.

You can read poems by some of the teaching poets at our website.  Student poetry will begin to be posted this week.
