Arts in Mind Update
We are happy to welcome two new schools
to the Arts
in Mind initiative
this year – Frazer School
and Van Duyn Elementary. They join
last year's pilot
schools – Danforth, Franklin,
Grant, and McKinley-Brighton – that
are bringing the arts into their
buildings as part of their whole-school
planning process. We also have
nine local cultural
organizations making their
offerings available for access,
alignment, integration, and professional
development in schools. The R/E/D
Group LLC, an independent evaluation
organization (affiliated with the
Office of Professional Research & Development
at University College), is currently
compiling data from the 2007-08
school year, which we eagerly await.
You can read about last year's pilot
partnerships at the Arts in Mind website.
We are looking forward to another
successful year of bringing schools
and arts together for Syracuse's
children.
